Two small Hampshire villages in the rolling countryside around Alton. Bentworth has a pub (the Sun Inn, which has a good reputation), a church, and scattered period properties along lanes. Upper and Lower Froyle are pretty in that classic Hampshire way, with thatched cottages and the Anchor Inn. Lower Froyle was partly owned by Lord Mayor Treloar's trust and has an estate-village feel. These are proper rural villages where you need a car for everything and the nearest proper shops are in Alton. Housing stock is a mix of period cottages, farmhouses, and some later infill, all at Hampshire countryside prices.
