Postcode Wars is a free neighbourhood comparison tool that ranks areas across England using publicly available government data. The service is provided as-is for informational purposes.

We compile data from official government sources including the Department for Education, Ofsted, HM Land Registry, ONS, UK Police, and Ordnance Survey. While we take care to keep data current and accurate:

• Data may be outdated between source publication cycles
• Neighbourhood boundaries are derived from administrative wards and may not match local perception
• Scores and rankings reflect statistical aggregates, not individual experience
• Property prices are based on Land Registry sale records, not current asking prices
• School data reflects the most recent published DfE and Ofsted data, which may be one or more academic years old
• Parent View data may be suppressed by DfE where sample sizes are too small for anonymity

This service should not be the sole basis for property, school, or relocation decisions. Always verify information with primary sources and seek professional advice where appropriate.

Postcode Wars presents statistical comparisons, not quality judgments. When we say an area is "Top 10% for safety", we mean it ranks in the 10th percentile of England for recorded crime — not that it is objectively "safe" or "good". All rankings are relative and data-driven.

You may use this service for personal, non-commercial research. You may not:

• Scrape or bulk-download data from the service
• Use automated tools to make excessive API requests
• Reproduce our rankings or composite scores as your own
• Use the service to discriminate against areas or communities

The underlying government data is licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Our composite scores, ranking formulas, neighbourhood derivations, and presentation are original work and remain our intellectual property.

Postcode Wars is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any decisions made based on information from this service, including but not limited to property purchases, school choices, or relocation decisions.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
