LU2 8 / MK45 4
A large village at the foot of the Barton Hills, which are part of the Chilterns AONB and genuinely worth the walk up. The nature reserve is right there and the chalk downland views are some of the best in Bedfordshire. The village itself has a primary school, a couple of pubs, a small Co-op, and a few local shops along the main road. Housing is mostly postwar semis and detached places with some older cottages near the church. No train station, so you are driving to Harlington for the Thameslink or into Luton. The M1 is close which helps if you work further afield. It is a quiet, settled place, popular with families who want proper countryside without being completely isolated.
