Sidcup is Bexley's second town centre after Bexleyheath. The high street has a mix of chains and independents, cafes, charity shops, and a Waitrose which says something about the local demographic. Sidcup station runs to Charing Cross and Cannon Street. The housing ranges from Victorian near the station to 1930s semis further out, with some larger properties towards Foots Cray and Chislehurst. Sidcup Place park is a nice green space. It has more of a settled, slightly aspirational feel than Bexleyheath and attracts families moving out from inner south-east London.
