Pilgrims Hatch

A residential area north of the A12, separated from Brentwood proper by the dual carriageway. It has a small parade of shops along Ongar Road but nothing that counts as a high street. Housing is predominantly 1950s and 60s semis and detached houses. It feels more isolated from Brentwood than the map suggests because of the A12 barrier. People here tend to drive to Brentwood or Shenfield for shopping. Quieter and slightly more affordable than central Brentwood.
