Bromley town centre is the commercial heart of the borough. The Glades shopping centre and the high street have a full range of chains, plus the Churchill Theatre and a decent restaurant scene around the Market Square area. Bromley South gives you fast trains to Victoria in under 20 minutes, which is the main reason commuters tolerate the prices. Housing close to the centre is a mix of Victorian terraces, mansion flats and newer developments. The further out you go, the more suburban it gets. It's the most urban-feeling part of the borough, for better and worse.
