Kentish Town's main strip runs along the High Road, with a good mix of independent cafes, pubs, and restaurants alongside the inevitable fried chicken shops. The Forum is one of London's best mid-size music venues. Kentish Town tube and Kentish Town West Overground give you decent connections. The side streets are Victorian terraces, many converted to flats, mixed in with council estates. It has a gritty, unpolished feel that people either love or tolerate. The canal towpath is nearby for walks. It's popular with young professionals and has been for twenty years without ever becoming particularly polished.
