South Hampstead

South Hampstead is the area between Swiss Cottage and West Hampstead, centred around the small Overground station on the North London line. It's almost entirely residential, with large Victorian and Edwardian houses, most converted into flats. Finchley Road tube (Jubilee/Metropolitan) and Swiss Cottage (Jubilee) are both walkable. There's very little in the way of a local centre, so you drift to West Hampstead or Swiss Cottage for shops and restaurants. It's quiet, well located, and popular with professionals who want a calm NW6 address without the premium of Hampstead proper.
