Crowborough Jarvis Brook

Jarvis Brook is the lower part of Crowborough, sitting in the valley below the main town. It has its own small parade of shops and a community feel that is slightly separate from the rest of Crowborough. The housing is more affordable here, a lot of it postwar semis and terraces with some ex-council stock. Crowborough station is actually in Jarvis Brook, not up on the ridge, which confuses people when they first move. The brook itself runs through and it can feel a bit damp in winter. Less polished than the top of the hill but perfectly practical for families on a tighter budget.
