The village centre and the residential streets around it. The high street runs through the middle with a decent mix of local shops, a library, and a few restaurants. Housing is mostly Edwardian semis and detached houses on quiet, tree-lined roads, with some 1960s and 70s infill further out. Wellington College sits on the western edge and its grounds add to the feeling of space. Edgbarrow School is the local secondary and has a strong reputation. Crowthorne feels more like a proper village than a suburb, partly because the surrounding pine forest creates genuine separation from Bracknell and Sandhurst. It is popular with families who want something quieter than Bracknell without the price tag of Ascot or Wokingham.
