East Grinstead Town

The town centre of East Grinstead is distinctive for its long, wide High Street with a mix of independent shops, cafes, pubs and chain stores. The area around the church and the war memorial is particularly attractive. There is a strong community feel and the town draws visitors from surrounding villages. The station is at the eastern end of the High Street. It has a historically significant feel, associated with the medieval era and the Ashdown Forest commoners.
