Named for the Pilgrims' Way, this ward takes in the stretch of the North Downs between Guildford and Dorking, including Albury and Shere. Shere is one of the most photographed villages in Surrey, all flint cottages and a stream running through the middle. It draws tourists and film crews regularly. Albury is quieter and more estate-village in character, with the Albury Park mansion nearby. The housing that comes up for sale tends to be period cottages or larger houses on lanes, and it goes for serious money. There is essentially nothing in the way of shops or services, so you are completely car-dependent. Beautiful to live in if you can afford it and don't mind the isolation.
