Shepherd's Bush

Shepherd's Bush is dominated by the Westfield shopping centre and the Green. The Green itself is a large triangle of grass surrounded by heavy traffic, not a place you'd sit and relax. The market, tucked under the railway arches along the Uxbridge Road, is worth knowing about for cheap fruit, veg, and fabric. The residential streets to the north and west are Victorian terraces, many in HMO conversions. It's diverse, busy, and practical. Central line tube at Shepherd's Bush, plus the Overground. The area has always had high rental turnover because of the bedsit conversions, but families have been settling in the quieter streets for years.
