Mark Hall was one of the first neighbourhoods built in the new town and it shows. The housing layout follows the Gibberd masterplan closely, with pedestrian paths separated from roads and generous green space between homes. Some of the architecture has a mid-century character that has worn reasonably well. Harlow Town station is nearby, which makes this one of the better-connected parts of town for commuters. Mark Hall North and South each have their own small centres.
