Wealdstone is the working end of Harrow. The High Street has an honest mix of pound shops, barbers, Caribbean and South Asian food, and independent traders. Harrow and Wealdstone station gives you the Bakerloo line and Overground services. The 1952 rail disaster, one of Britain's worst, happened here. Housing is a mix of Victorian terraces, interwar stock, and some council blocks. It is one of the most affordable and diverse parts of the borough, without the polish of Pinner or the Hill. The Kodak redevelopment nearby is the biggest change on the horizon.
