South Ruislip has its own station on the Central line and Chiltern Railways, which gives it different commuter options to the rest of Ruislip. The area is a mix of 1930s housing and some newer developments. There's a small shopping centre and a business park. It's more industrial in feel than Ruislip or Ruislip Manor, with the A40 running alongside. The RAF base was a major presence before it closed.
