Hangleton is the big postwar estate on the hill above Hove. Rows of 1950s and 60s semis and terraces, a community centre, a local shopping parade that covers the basics. It's functional and unpretentious. The views from the top of the hill towards the Downs are surprisingly good. Benfield Valley runs along the edge, which is a nice green corridor. Families on a budget end up here because you get more space than anywhere closer to the seafront. It doesn't have the polish of central Hove but it has a strong community feel, and people who grow up here tend to stay.
