Liss village has a proper centre with a Co-op, a butcher, a few cafes, and the Triangle. The station is on the Portsmouth Direct line, about 70 minutes to Waterloo, which makes it commutable if you don't mind the journey. Housing is mostly detached and semi-detached, a mix of older village stock and 1960s onwards estates spreading out from the centre. West Liss and Liss Forest feel more residential and spread out. Families like it for the junior and infant schools and the fact that kids can still walk or cycle around safely. The surrounding walks are excellent, particularly up towards Shoulder of Mutton Hill. It is not exciting, but that is rather the point.
