Raynes Park has a proper suburban high street with a Waitrose, independent cafes, and a decent butcher. The station gets you to Waterloo in about 20 minutes on the slow train, quicker on the fast. Housing is mostly Edwardian and interwar semis with some larger detached houses on the roads closer to Wimbledon Common. It feels like its own place rather than just another bit of Merton, and families like it for the combination of good schools, reasonable prices, and that quick Waterloo link.
