Green Street East

Green Street is one of the most distinctive shopping streets in London. South Asian fashion, jewellery, wedding outfitters, and restaurants line both sides. It is packed on weekends and feels more like a market town in Gujarat than a London high street. The east side is closer to East Ham station and the housing behind the shops is a grid of Victorian terraces. If you are part of the South Asian community this is a genuine hub. If you are not, it is still an interesting and useful place to shop.
