Saltdean is notable for the Lido, an Art Deco building on the seafront that has been restored. The housing is mainly 1930s semis and detacheds on a grid pattern, with some newer developments. Telscombe Cliffs is similar, running along the clifftop with sea views. Both areas have local shops and are connected to Brighton by bus. The clifftop walks are a real asset. Housing is more affordable than equivalent spots in Brighton proper.
