North Walworth

The top end of Walworth Road heading toward Elephant & Castle. East Street Market is the heart of this area, a proper old south London street market that has been here for over a century. The housing is predominantly council estates, including parts of the Heygate replacement and the older Walworth estate blocks. It is noisy, urban, and not pretty, but it is real London. Elephant tube is close, Walworth Road has everything you need for daily life, and it is a lot cheaper than anywhere north of the river.
