Rusthall is a village on the western edge of town that has kept a separate identity despite being absorbed into the wider Tunbridge Wells sprawl. It has its own village centre with a pub, a church, a cricket ground, and a small parade of shops. The Toad Rock and the surrounding sandstone outcrops on Rusthall Common are distinctive. Housing is a mix of Victorian terraces, interwar semis, and some newer development. It's more affordable than central Tunbridge Wells and has a proper community. The walk into town across the Common is pleasant and doable.
