Aston Datchworth & Walkern

Three small villages strung along the lanes east of Stevenage. Aston has a pub and a church but not much else. Walkern is the largest of the three, with a village hall and a handful of period properties around the green. Datchworth has a well-used village green and a proper cricket pitch, and feels slightly more connected because it is closer to the A602. The housing is mostly older cottages and some postwar infill. You are driving to Stevenage or Hertford for any real shopping. Quiet, properly rural, and the kind of place where people know each other.
