Biddenden is a proper Kentish village with a long, attractive high street lined with tile-hung and weatherboarded houses. There's a village shop, a couple of pubs, a primary school, and a vineyard nearby that draws visitors. The housing stock is a mix of period cottages and newer builds on the edges. It's popular with families and people who've retired from London but still want a village with some life in it. Headcorn station is the nearest rail link, about fifteen minutes by car, giving you a slow train into London. Not cheap for rural Kent, and you'll need a car for secondary schools and any serious shopping.
