Lancaster Gate is a row of tall white stucco terraces facing Hyde Park, with a tube station (Central line) that gives it its name. Many of the buildings are hotels, and the residential ones are mostly split into flats. The area has a high proportion of short-term lets and tourist accommodation. Paddington station is a short walk north, which is useful for Heathrow and the Elizabeth line. The Italian Gardens at the top of the Serpentine are lovely. It's well located but lacks a centre or identity of its own. People live here for the park access and the transport links, not for the community.
