New Haw feels like its own place rather than part of Addlestone. It has a small parade of shops on the Woodham Lane stretch, a community feel, and a lot of 1930s semis and some post-war housing. The Basingstoke Canal runs through, which is pleasant. New Haw has its own identity partly because it has its own schools, shops, and a definite boundary. It's a sensible, affordable choice for families who want Surrey without the price tag of the Weybridge side.
