Sunninghill has more of a village centre than Ascot does, with a proper high street along the A329 that includes a Co-op, a handful of independents, takeaways, and a couple of well-used pubs. The housing is a mix of Victorian and Edwardian cottages near the village centre, with larger detached houses as you move outward towards Sunninghill Park and the surrounding woodland. It is quieter and more self-contained than neighbouring Sunningdale, and feels like a place where people actually walk to the shops. There is no station in Sunninghill itself, so most people use Ascot or Sunningdale depending on direction of travel. The village green and the allotments give it a settled, community feel that the more manicured roads of Ascot proper lack.
