Tattenham Corner

Tattenham Corner is best known for the Epsom Downs racecourse and the terminus of the branch line from Purley. The station itself feels like it belongs to another era. Housing is mostly 1930s semis built when the railway arrived, laid out on curving streets with a uniform suburban character. Tattenham Corner station gives you a direct service to London Bridge, though it is slow. The Downs are right on the doorstep for walking. There are a few local shops near the station but nothing substantial. It is a quiet commuter settlement that comes alive on Derby Day.
