East Barnet

East Barnet feels like proper suburbia. Tree-lined streets, 1930s semis with driveways, and a slower pace than anywhere on the tube. The village area around the church has a few local shops and a pub. Oak Hill Park is a lovely green space. The catch is transport: New Barnet station (Great Northern) is the nearest rail, and the Piccadilly line at Cockfosters is a drive or bus ride away. It works well for families with a car who want quiet streets and decent schools.
