East Finchley

East Finchley has a strong local identity. The High Road has a good run of independent shops, cafes and restaurants, including the Phoenix Cinema, one of the oldest in the country. Cherry Tree Wood is a well-used local park. The Northern line station (High Barnet branch) gives you a direct route into town. Housing is mostly Edwardian and Victorian terraces with some 1930s stock further out. It sits between the expensive end of Muswell Hill and Hampstead Garden Suburb, which keeps prices firm. Popular with young families and creative types who've been priced out of Highgate.
