The old Friern Hospital site (the enormous Victorian asylum) was converted into flats years ago and is now a local landmark. Friary Park is a well-kept green space with a cafe and playground. Transport is bus-dependent unless you walk to Arnos Grove (Piccadilly) or New Southgate (Great Northern). Housing is mostly 1930s semis. It suits families who want calm streets and don't need to be on the tube doorstep.
