Close to the town centre, south of the ring road. Brookvale has a small local centre and a mix of 1960s housing and some older stock. Kings Furlong is similar in character. Being close to the centre is useful for walking to Festival Place and the station, which sets it apart from the more car-dependent estates. The housing is not as polished as the newer parts of town but the location is practical.
