St Mary's

St Mary's is the core of South Benfleet, centred on the High Road and the area around St Mary's church. This is the oldest part of Benfleet with some genuine historic character around the churchyard and the creek. The station is here, which makes it the most practical spot for commuters. The High Road has a handful of cafes, takeaways, and convenience shops but it's functional rather than destination shopping. Benfleet Downs and the creek marshes are right on the doorstep, which is a genuine perk if you like walking or birdwatching.
