Bexleyheath is the borough's main town centre. The Broadway has a solid stretch of high street shops, a cinema, restaurants, and the Broadway Shopping Centre. It is not glamorous but it is genuinely useful and you can do a proper weekly shop without getting in the car. The clocktower is the local landmark. Housing around the centre is mostly 1930s semis with some Victorian terraces on the older streets. Bexleyheath station runs to London Bridge and Cannon Street. Danson Park is a short walk south and is one of the best parks in the borough with a boating lake and cafe. For Bexley, this is as close to a proper town centre as it gets.
