Blackmore is a proper Essex village with a green, a pub, and the Church of St. Laurence with its remarkable medieval timber bell tower. It sits in open farmland about five miles north of Brentwood, well away from the main commuter belt bustle. The Bull is the village local, there's a primary school and a small shop, but you're driving to Brentwood or Ongar for anything more. No station, so you'd head to Shenfield for the Elizabeth line. Housing is a mix of period cottages, older detached houses, and some newer builds. Doddinghurst is the nearest neighbouring village. It's quiet, properly rural, and the sort of place where people know each other.
