Cumnor is a proper village on the hill above Botley, with a pub, a church, and a green. The houses are a mix of older stone cottages around the centre and 20th century additions spreading outwards. It has genuine village feel in a way that Botley doesn't. Cumnor Hill is a well-known local road with large detached houses and good views towards Oxford's dreaming spires. It's popular with academics and professionals who want to be close to the city but not in it. The primary school has a good reputation. You need a car for most things, though there are buses into Oxford.
