Bromham

Bromham sits on the River Great Ouse about three miles west of Bedford. The medieval bridge is the thing everyone mentions, and the river walks along the Ouse Valley Way are genuinely good. It is a proper village with a pub, a church, a village hall, and not much else in terms of amenities. Housing is a mix of older stone and brick cottages in the centre with newer estates on the edges. Families like it for the quiet and the space, but you are driving into Bedford for anything beyond basics.
