MK40 4
Great Denham is a large new-build development on the western edge of Bedford, mostly built from around 2005 onwards on former farmland. It has that very planned feel, all cul-de-sacs and roundabouts with a mix of detached and semi-detached houses aimed squarely at families. There is a primary school, a community hall, and a small local centre but you are driving to Bedford or the retail parks for anything serious. The Great Ouse runs along the southern edge with some decent walking paths. It is quiet and safe in the way that new estates tend to be, but it lacks any real character or sense of place beyond being a convenient, fairly affordable spot within reach of Bedford station and the A421.
