Aldbury is picture-postcard Chilterns. A village green with a pond, old stocks, half-timbered cottages, and the Greyhound pub overlooking it all. It gets used as a film set regularly for good reason. Wigginton sits higher up and is quieter, more of a scattered residential village with a church and not much else. Housing is a mix of period cottages, converted barns, and some larger detached houses with land. There are no real shops to speak of, so you drive to Tring or Berkhamsted for everything. The walking is exceptional, with Ashridge right on the doorstep and the Ridgeway nearby. Families who settle here tend to be well-off and committed to the rural life. It is genuinely remote by Hertfordshire standards.
