Harlesden

Harlesden has one of the strongest community identities in Brent. The High Street is lively, with Caribbean and West African food shops, barbershops, and a market that gives it genuine character. Harlesden station has Bakerloo line and Overground connections. Willesden Junction, a short walk away, adds even more options. Housing is mostly Victorian terraces, some in need of upkeep, alongside ex-council estates. It has a reputation for being rough, which is partly outdated and partly still earned on certain streets. But the community feel is real, and people who live here are often fiercely loyal to it.
