Kensal Rise has gentrified significantly over the past fifteen years. Chamberlayne Road is the spine, lined with independent cafes, wine bars, delis, and boutiques that wouldn't look out of place in Queen's Park next door. Housing is Victorian terraces, many done up to a high standard but you still find unrenovated ones. Kensal Rise station (Overground) is well used but the lack of a tube station is the main transport gripe. It attracts young families and creative types who've migrated north from Notting Hill and Ladbroke Grove. It has real personality without feeling try-hard.
