Hanover is one of the steepest residential areas in Brighton and everyone who lives there has calves to prove it. Tight Victorian terraces climbing the hill, painted front doors, and a strong community feel. It has its own pub-centric social scene and the Hanover Day street party is a proper event. Elm Grove at the bottom is more of a through road with a useful row of shops. Popular with young families and people who moved here as students and never left. Parking is a nightmare.
