Preston Park is the big, leafy area that families fight over. The park itself is one of Brighton's best green spaces with a proper cafe, tennis courts, and the velodrome. The streets around it are lined with large Victorian and Edwardian houses, many of them converted into flats but some still whole. It has its own station on the mainline, which commuters love. The stretch of shops along Preston Drove is useful rather than exciting. It feels more grown-up than central Brighton. One of the more expensive parts of the city.
