St Peter's is the inland half of Broadstairs, historically a separate village centred on St Peter's church. It still has a slightly distinct identity, with its own small parade of shops and a quieter, more suburban character. Housing is mostly interwar and postwar, semis and bungalows, more affordable than the streets closer to the seafront. The Thanet Loop rail line means you can walk to Broadstairs station or use the bus. Families tend to like it because you get more space for the money while still being a short walk from the sea. It does not have the charm of the old town but it is practical and unpretentious.
