The village has a clear centre around the high street and the green, with a mix of 1930s semis, post-war estates, and some larger detached houses towards the Beeches. Burnham Grammar School pulls in families from a wide area. The Elizabeth line station (formerly GWR stopping service) makes the London commute genuinely viable now, and that has pushed prices up noticeably. Burnham Beeches is walking distance for the northern part of the village, which is a real selling point if you have dogs or kids. South of the village things get more suburban and merge into Slough's edges. It is quiet, maybe too quiet if you want nightlife or proper restaurants, but that is sort of the point.
