Pyrford is a proper Surrey village that has managed to keep its character despite being surrounded by suburbia. The common and the golf course keep things green, and the lanes around the old church of St Nicolas feel genuinely rural. Housing is predominantly detached, many with large gardens, and prices reflect that. It draws well-off families who want the village feel without being too far from a station. West Byfleet is the nearest for trains. Pyrford Primary has a strong reputation and is oversubscribed. The trade-off is that there are no real shops beyond a small parade, so you are driving to West Byfleet or Woking for everything.
