Another hilltop suburb northeast of the town centre, named after another fort from Chatham's military past now long disappeared. Fort Pitt has good access to the town centre and station while being sufficiently residential to feel separate from it. The housing stock is interwar and post-war, with streets of modest semis and a scattering of local shops. There are primary schools in the catchment. It is not an area with particular village feel or high street credentials, but it functions well for families who want proximity to Chatham's amenities without being in the thick of the town centre.
