This covers the city centre and Moulsham Street, which is Chelmsford's most characterful shopping street. Moulsham Street has a good run of independents, cafes, and restaurants, and feels more interesting than the chain-heavy High Street. The Odeon end of town has a lot of the nightlife. Housing around here is a mix of Victorian terraces, some Georgian bits near the cathedral, and newer flats. It's where younger professionals tend to live because you can walk to the station, the shops, and the pubs. Can be noisy on weekend nights.
