Southgate

One of the original 1950s neighbourhoods, just south of the town centre. Southgate has a local parade of shops and is close to Tilgate Park, which is Crawley's best green space with a lake, adventure playground, and walled garden. The housing is typical early new-town stock, solidly built semis with gardens. It is popular with families because of the proximity to Tilgate and the town centre. Southgate Avenue has some of the better local shops outside the main centre.
